High Accuracy and Fast Point Cloud Capture

The Hawk achieves a measurement accuracy of 1.5 cm at 10 m, 3 cm at 20 m, and 5 cm at 40 m. This enables the scanner to deliver robust 3D data for applications where precise spatial capture and reliable point clouds are critical.

With a point cloud rate of 480,000 points per second, the LiDAR scanner captures dense and detailed data sets. This accelerates the scanning of large areas and supports efficient workflows for building scans, facade surveys, industrial facilities, road mapping, and digital twin projects.

360° Scan Angle for Complex Environments

The 360° horizontal scan angle and 63.5° vertical field of view reduce blind spots and facilitate the complete capture of complex structures. This is particularly relevant for interiors, facades, technical facilities, and environments with many geometric details.

The scan radius ranges from 40 to 70 m, depending on the reflectivity of the target object. The scan range is 80 to 140 m. This makes the Hawk suitable for both compact indoor areas and larger outdoor spaces, as well as extensive surveying tasks.

Hybrid Solid-State LiDAR with Multi-Echo Technology

The 3DMakerpro Hawk’s LiDAR system uses a 905-nm laser light source and supports multi-echo acquisition. This allows even challenging scenes with varying surfaces, reflectance values, and spatial structures to be reliably captured.

Laser Class 1 compliance with IEC 60825-1:2014 makes the scanner eye-safe and suitable for use in professional work environments. This is an important factor for applications on construction sites, in industrial facilities, in public areas, or for mobile scanning projects with rotating teams.

Dual-camera system for color 3D scans

Two 13-MP 1-inch cameras capture color textures and enable the output of 3D color point clouds, Gaussian splatting data, and colored polygonal 3D models. This produces not only geometrically usable point clouds, but also visually informative 3D data for presentation, documentation, and digital spaces.

The HDR mode with 3 to 5 EV supports capture in challenging lighting conditions. This is particularly helpful in mixed lighting, with significant differences in brightness, or changing environmental conditions indoors and outdoors.

NIR Visual Tracking for Stable Positioning

The integrated NIR visual tracking system supports precise positioning of the scanner during capture. It ensures smooth motion tracking and helps to reliably track movements even in challenging environments.

Especially in poorly lit areas or when dealing with recurring geometric structures—such as in hallways, industrial facilities, or technical plants—the NIR tracking improves the stability of the 3D scanning workflow.

The removable 12,000-mAh battery grip enables up to 1 hour of continuous operation. Thanks to the Quick-Swap design, the battery can be quickly replaced during longer projects. The 65-W fast charging reduces charging times and increases operational readiness in the field.

Two USB Type-C ports, Wi-Fi 5, and an integrated 3.9-inch AMOLED touchscreen enable convenient control, real-time monitoring, and efficient data transfer. Additionally, an external power supply is supported.

Software for point cloud processing and 3D visualization

The post-processing software enables the editing, cleaning, and optimization of point clouds. The Denoise function allows disruptive points to be removed via one-click noise reduction. The Optimize function improves point clouds using algorithms and supports more precise results for further processing.

Hawk supports output as a 3D Color Point Cloud in PLY format, as 3D Gaussian splatting in PLY format, and as a colored polygonal 3D model in OBJ format. Additionally, PNG+OBJ output is supported. Gaussian splatting is only available on NVIDIA GPUs.
