A unique variety of textures for exceptional prints

The Bambu 3D Effect Sheet Set expands your design possibilities in 3D printing and gives printed objects impressive surface textures. The set includes four different textures—Diamond, Starry, Galaxy, and Carbon Fiber—each of which creates unique effects.

Carbon Fiber Surface Sheet

This sheet creates a fine texture resembling carbon fiber. When used with gray carbon filament, it achieves a sophisticated and modern look.

Diamond Surface Sheet

The diamond sheet embosses a striking diamond pattern onto the print surface and offers an elegant blend of glossy and matte finishes.

Galaxy surface sheet

With a vibrant rainbow effect, this sheet creates iridescent colors that change depending on the viewing angle. It looks particularly impressive when combined with glossy filaments.

Star surface sheet

A sparkling kaleidoscope effect that adorns the first layer of the print with a luminous star pattern. Ideal in combination with silk or glossy filaments.

Preparation and Installation

Manual Installation: The 3D effect sheets are not pre-applied to the steel plate. Please install the sheet yourself on the desired side of the steel plate.

Recommended plates: For optimal print results, we recommend using the Bambu 3D effect films exclusively on the official Bambu Lab steel plate.

Alternative plate option: The Bambu Engineering Plate (back side of the Bambu Cool Plate/High Temp Plate) is also suitable. If using a used plate, completely remove all adhesive residue and thoroughly clean the surface. The surface must be dry and clean before application.

Printing settings

Bed type setting: In Bambu Studio, set the bed type to “Smooth PEI/High-Temperature Plate” and follow the recommended heated bed settings.

Clean Surface for Clear Patterns: To keep the 3D effect patterns visible, the surface must be clean and free of grease. We recommend using hot water and detergent for cleaning. Avoid touching the surface directly if possible.

Special Notes and Recommendations

LIDAR calibration: LIDAR calibration may be affected by reflections from the effect film. We recommend either performing the calibration with a conventional plate or skipping the LIDAR calibration sequence.

Extending the lifespan of the films: The 3D effect films are consumables. To maximize the durability of the films, place print objects evenly distributed across the film surface.

Avoid adhesives: Do not apply adhesives to the film surface.

Careful removal of prints: When peeling off prints with a scraper, take special care not to damage the film surface.

Recommended print settings

Filaments: We recommend PLA and TPU filaments for printing. Note that further adjustments to the slicer settings may be necessary depending on the model and filament. In Bambu Studio, select “Smooth PEI Plate” or “High Temp Plate” as the plate type.

Settings for the X1 Series: Users of the X1 Series should disable build plate position detection to avoid error messages. This can be changed under “Settings -> Print Options -> Build Plate Position Detection.”
