Bondtech BMG-X2 at IGO3D

Two versions available:
for the older Chimera/Cyclops models with a C-C of 18.00 mm,
and for the newer Chimera+/Cyclops+ models with a C-C of 20.00 mm (compatible with the Aqua version)

The Bondtech BMG uses a 3:1 internal gear ratio combined with precision CNC-machined drive gears made of hardened steel to provide you with a compact powerhouse for all your applications. Whether you need high-resolution prints with small nozzles or high-flow prints with large nozzles, the optimized gear ratio combined with industry-leading drive gears delivers unmatched thrust and lightning-fast retracts in a lightweight and compact package.

Bondtech Dual Drive

The unique Dual-Drive technology ensures uninterrupted material flow without fear of shredding or slipping, even under the most demanding conditions. Bondtech users around the world will confirm that the extruders operate flawlessly, with unmatched precision, and without damaging or degrading the filament—even during prints with thousands of retracts.

Multi-Material Capability

The BMG extruder feeds all materials with high reliability, from smooth nylons and soft TPU/TPE filaments to highly rigid and sometimes brittle carbon-filled high-strength materials. The extruder is designed for 1.75 mm filaments but has been tested to ensure performance with filaments ranging from 1.5 mm to 2.0 mm, enabling high reliability regardless of the tolerance of the filament used. The filament path runs entirely through the extruder body, and the housing maintains tight tolerances with the drive gears, reducing the risk of filament misfeeds when there is increased backpressure in the hot end or when using highly flexible filaments.

Adjustable Tension

With the knurled screw tensioner, the user can fine-tune the pressure exerted on the filament by the drive gears. This allows you to adjust the pressure to your preferences and optimize it for the type of material used.

Quick-release lever

To change materials in a snap, simply activate the quick-release lever to release the tension and pull the material to be replaced out of the extruder; keep it activated and insert the new material.

Included stepper motors

The included high-performance Nema17 pancake motors offer high torque and low weight.

Flexible mounting options

The standard mount made of CNC-machined aluminum can be used to attach the extruder as shown in the photos, or a simple 3D-printed mount can be used. You can download a CAD or STL file of the extruder, which contains the dimensions you need to design your custom mount. The extruder is shipped without mounts.

Additional Information

A short piece of 4/2 mm PTFE tubing is used to feed the filament into the hot end. The length of this PTFE tubing should be 38.0 mm (not included with the extruder).
