In order to minimise warping of the object from the printing plate, an adhesion promoter on the printing plate is often not sufficient. Temperature differences of air streams during printing contribute significantly to the fact that printed objects warp or shrink due to rapid cooling and therefore detach from the printing plate.
The Hannotec cover and door is used to avoid these problems and to provide a closed print room for your Ultimaker 3D printer.

Perfectly matched to the Ultimaker 3 Extended, the Hannotec cover and door is easy to install and provides the perfect 3D printing environment for all materials that need to be printed at high temperatures.
With the Hannotec cover and door we supply the Hannotec 120x120mm filter box. An air filter system with a three-stage air filter - for macro particles, micro particles and vapours. It is mounted on a cardboard frame and fitted with a foam seal to ensure the correct seal between the cover and the filter box.
Here is a more detailed description of the different filter stages that the filter system contains:

Prefilter -> Thermo-bound polyester filter of class M5
E11 EPA Filter -> TB90 media type with 95% efficiency for 0.3 micron particles
carbon filter -> activated carbon on PU foam VOC broad spectrum carbon

The focus is on reducing vapours (including VOC) and odours.
We have a macro particle prefilter to prevent the EPA E11 filter from clogging, thus reducing its service life. The E11 filter in turn prevents the activated carbon filter from clogging and at the same time extends its life.

Note: If you want to use materials with low temperatures and low emissions, such as PLA, please open the flap or remove the cover completely while printing.

Information: The Hannotec cover does not contain a screwdriver, but all screws used to mount the cover and cover box are compatible with the screwdriver supplied in your Ultimaker.

About the fan:
With the Noise Blocker we use a first-class 120x120x25mm fan of the - low noise - class. This fan can move 150 m³ / hour, but the filter will reduce this airflow to less than half due to air resistance. This drop in air pressure and flow is absolutely necessary. We need to make sure that the airflow is not too high to endanger the 3D printing itself. Too much air being drawn out of the printer can cause unwanted
contractions (warping) on the prints. At the same time we have to keep enough negative pressure in the cover so that all the escaping air flows through the filter. After several combinations and tests we have achieved this delicate balance with this filter and fan combination.
