Kimya ABS-S offers good impact resistance and solid mechanical properties

Kimya’s ABS-S 3D printing filament is part of the French manufacturer’s standard filament lineup. ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer) is a widely used plastic that is frequently found in the packaging industry and in everyday items. Compared to PLA, ABS offers several advantages. ABS is more heat-resistant and impact-resistant. The material is generally tough and does not break as quickly or easily as, for example, PLA (polylactic acid). With a heat resistance of approximately 90°C, the material is suitable, for instance, for parts left in a car on hot summer days. ABS is one of the standard materials frequently used by hobbyists as well.

Applications for Kimya ABS-S Filament

Kimya ABS-S is suitable for all applications where standard PLA does not offer sufficient properties. ABS is often used to print parts such as brackets, edge guards, or handles. In addition, the material is widely used in the packaging industry or, for example, for bread boxes. The popular building blocks and children’s toys are also made of ABS in most cases.
