Kimya PC-S filament is an exceptionally durable, strong filament that can withstand high temperatures.

The PC-S filament from the French manufacturer Kimya is a polycarbonate that withstands exceptionally high mechanical stresses. The suffix "-S" in the product name indicates that this is a standard filament, without any fiber reinforcement or similar additives.

Advantages of Kimya PC-S Filament

This polycarbonate 3D printing filament is heat-resistant up to 140°C. This also means it can be sterilized in certain machines (such as an autoclave). Additionally, the translucent version of the material is certified for food contact in accordance with EU Regulation 10/2011 and FDA CFR 21.

As is typical for polycarbonate, the material is exceptionally strong and robust. The printed parts can withstand the most extreme stresses. It is one of the most durable filaments that can be processed with a standard 3D printer.

Applications for Kimya PC-S Filament

Kimya brand polycarbonate is ideal for creating functional parts or prototypes. The food industry, in particular, makes extensive use of this material. Due to its good temperature resistance, polycarbonate is also frequently used in warmer environments. Polycarbonate is used for housing components as well as safety helmets (motorcycle helmets, bicycle helmets, etc.). In some cases, food containers are also made from PC.

Notes on Using Polycarbonate Filaments

Polycarbonate filaments must be printed at very high temperatures. The material generally tends to warp, so we always recommend using a print bed adhesive, a selection of which you’ll find in our product range. The right choice is often a matter of personal preference. However, for this filament, we recommend Magigoo PC and a Topcover, among other options. The cover seals off the build chamber and prevents drafts from negatively affecting the print result.
